Tuna Salad Recipe

This recipe is inspired by the tuna salad from my favorite local bistro in Phoenix, AZ, La Grande Orange. I’ve never had golden raisins in tuna salad before, the golden raisins add such vibrant flavor and texture.

I knew I needed to try and recreate this recipe at home.

LGO definitely uses a secret sauce or a secret ingredient that makes it extra delicious, but I think I created something that comes pretty close.

Ingredients:

4 cans of tuna (I use two light and two dark,  the contrast of the light and dark gives it a unique flavor)

1/2 cup golden raisins

3 celery stalks (finely diced)

1/2 cup mayo (I use the mayo with olive oil)

2 1/2 tbsp sweet relish

3 tbsp deli mustard (one with horseradish)

2 tbsp honey mustard

1/2 tsp salt

pinch of celery salt (if you have it)

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp garlic powder

Directions:

Step 1: Open and drain your cans of tuna. Then put into a medium sized mixing bowl.

Step 2: Chop your celery so its finely diced.

Step 3: Add your golden raisins, and spices. Then give a nice little stir.

Step 4: Add the wet ingredients last so the seasonings can stick to the tuna, mix well.

Step 5: Keep the tuna in the fridge for 20 minutes before eating so the ingredients can marinate together. Waiting 20 minutes really enhances the flavor.

Step 6: (OPTIONAL) Enjoy your tuna salad on a sandwich, with crackers, or spread over some lettuce.

Step 7: ENJOY!

Tuna Salad is something easy to whip up, especially if you want to have something yummy, and healthy on hand to eat or snack on throughout the week. So having things on hand that are healthier makes it easier to make a better snack decision.

I hope you babes are staying healthy and safe at home.

As always, sending my love your way.

love, becca
