Firecracker Limeade Slushy!!
Summer is here and the temps are HEATING UP, but I have something delicious that will also cool you off.
I am all about frozen drinks in the summer, and this might be a new favorite.
” I’ll take mine blended please”
Grenadine is such a nostalgic flavor me, as I grew up on Shirley Temples. Our dad would take us out to dinner every Friday night and would order Shirley Temples for all the kids. It was our little treat at the end of the week so we ALWAYS looked forward to it.
With Fourth of July being such a traditional holiday I wanted to work in traditions I love.
The grenadine not only added such a sweet flavor, it made for the most beautiful red color in the drink, which is why I thought it was so perfect to add in for festive flare/color.
Ingredients:
Slushy Ingredients:
3 cups limeade (I used simply limeade brand)
2 cups ice
2 tbsp grenadine
1 cup strawberries -fresh or frozen
1 lime – juiced (1/2 juice for the slushy)
Whipped Topping
1 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp vanilla
1 tbsp lime zest
Directions:
Whipped Cream:
Step 1: Combine the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla in a mixing bowl and whip until stiff peaks form.
Step 2: Fold in the lime zest and place in the fridge to chill while your make the slushy.

Step 3:
In a blender first add your ice, limeade, and strawberries. Blend for 1 minute, until ingredients start to combine and slush starts to form.
Step 4:
Add the fresh lime juice and grenadine. Then blend again for about another 1 minute, until everything is well combined.
Step 5:
In your desired glass, pour the slushy in first.
Step 6:
Top with fresh whipped cream.
Step 7:
Add festive flare. I added fun cupcake toppers, but you can add red and blue sprinkles, a fun blue star etc.
Step 8:
ENJOY!!
