I know I say this a lot… but holidays are my favorite thing because I will make any excuse a reason celebrate. I love thinking of new and fun ways each year to celebrate all the special holidays.
Chocolate dipped Oreos? Yes, please!!!
With Valentine’s Day a few days away, I came up with an easy and fun treat for you to make for your kids, loved ones, and girlfriends etc.
Chocolate Dipped Oreos Recipe
I LOVE love and I celebrate it all year round but what I adore most about Valentine’s Day is how even more cheesy and extra you can be showing it that day!! The Valentine’s Day bags, roses on roses, confetti, all the cheesy sayings, and heart shaped everything…uh heaven!
My thought process was I took one of my favorite cookies year round and one of my favorite Valentine’s Day staples and put them together!
Chocolate covered Oreo “Conversation Hearts”
What you need:
- Parchment paper
- Microwave safe bowls
- Colored melting chocolate
- 4 inch lollipop sticks
- Edible ink pens
- Oreos
- Plastic spoon
- Microwave or stove top
How To:
1st Step: Get materials and supplies ready
- Decide how many colors you want to make and grab that amount of microwave safe bowls (I used 4 different colors)
- Place Parchment paper on a baking sheet for drying
- Open Oreos container
- Open lollipop sticks
2nd Step: Divide each colored melting chocolate into each bowl. (Tip: I ordered extra white melting chocolate so I could throw some white chocolate pieces in each color to lighten it up if I wanted a more light or pastel look.)
3rd Step: Microwave the chocolate one bowl (or color) at a time. (Tip: Microwave for 40 seconds at time and stir.Every microwave is different so just check on it as it melts.) Dip as many Oreos as you want in this color first before moving onto the next batch of melted chocolate, as chocolate hardens quickly.
4th Step: Gently push the lollipop stick through the filling of the Oreo. Oreos are fragile so be careful because you don’t want them to crack.
5th Step: Dip the Oreos in bowls of chocolate and if need be take a little plastic spoon to drizzle chocolate on top just to make sure you cover it all.
6th Step: Place covered Oreos on parchment paper to dry and repeat.
7th Step: Place the Oreos in the fridge to cool for 30 minutes so when you draw on the top it won’t bleed.
8th Step: Write whatever fun sayings you want (keep scrolling below for some of my favorites!).
Examples:
- UR CUTE
- LOVE YA
- HOT STUFF
- XOXO
- BE MINE
- KISS ME
- HOT LIPS
- QT PIE
- #BAE
- SWIPE RIGHT
- TEXT ME
- HUGS
- LOVER BOY
- U ROCK
- SWEETIE
I hope you enjoy these treats, and I hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day!!
