Baked Goat Cheese Balls!!
…with honey mustard & crushed pretzels.
Game day is all about snacking and all about cheesy goodness, so Im bringing you both.
Baked Goat Cheese Balls
Ingredients:
2 packages goat cheese
1 1/2 cup pretzels
1 jar honey dijon mustard
1 container hot honey
1 container arugula
1/2 lemon
Directions:
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 500 degrees.
Step 2: In a plastic bag add your pretzels and crush them up until they are in pieces and crumbs. Empty the bag into a bowl.
Step 3: Add your honey mustard to a bowl.
Step 4: Take your goat cheese out of the fridge. It’s important to do this as the very last step so the goat cheese can remain as cold as possible. This makes sure the balls are easier to mold and the crust will stick. Taking about 2 tbsp of goat cheese at a time roll the cheese into little balls and place on-to a plate.
Step 5: Taking one ball at a time. first coat it in the mustard, next coat them in the pretzels and then set on a baking sheet (lined with parchment paper). Repeat until all the goat cheese is gone.
Step 6: Place in the oven and then cook for 3 minutes.
Step 7: Take the goat cheese balls out of the oven. While you let them cool for a minute, add arugula to a serving bowl. Spread around a good layer and then using tongs, add your goat cheese balls on-top.
Step 8: Drizzle your hot honey all over. You can use regular honey as well, but I like that the hot honey gives the dish a little bit of a kick, and cuts some of the sweetness. Lastly squeeze the lemon all over. The lemon gives a nice tangy bite and rounds all the flavors together.
Step 9: Serve & ENJOY!!
